Pediatric Therapy Comparison: Insurance, Private Pay, and VIP Concierge

Insurance, Private Pay, or VIP Concierge

What your family pays depends on how care is funded. What you get back is session length and control over the schedule.

  • Insurance

    Starting at $0

Your cost comes down to your copay and your deductible. In exchange, your plan sets the session length, covering only what it considers medically necessary. Any questions, care consultations, goal reviews, progress updates, or home exercise program education must be addressed within the authorized session time. If additional consultation is requested beyond the scheduled session, a separate consultation may need to be scheduled and may be subject to an additional fee.

  • Standard Private Pay

Set rates through PPT4Kids, with no insurance involved. Sessions can run longer or be more frequently than an insurance plan would authorize, because the length is decided by you and your therapist. All questions/consultation must occur during that scheduled session.

  • VIP Concierge

Everything private pay offers, plus scheduling flexibility, a session length dedicated to your child, therapist best suited for needs for each service, personalized coordination that come with the VIP program including any needed consultations or questions.

Families move to VIP Concierge when the limit they keep hitting isn't the cost, it's the calendar: a plan that caps the hour, a clinic that assigns whoever is free, and a schedule built around the practice instead of the family.

What's Included in VIP Concierge Pricing

VIP Concierge pricing isn't just paying for the therapy hour, whichever discipline your child needs. It also covers a set of services most insurance-based clinics don't offer at all:

  • Hand-picked specialist matching, so your child is paired with a therapist suited to their specific needs rather than whoever has the next open slot.
  • Flexible session locations, including your home, clinic, or a community setting like daycare or school.
  • A dedicated concierge team that handles scheduling and coordination, so you're not the one chasing appointment times.
  • Collaborative home programs, including videos and take-home resources so progress continues between sessions.
  • Coordination with your child's other providers, like pediatricians, psychologists, or specialists, when that's helpful.
  • Priority access and scheduling flexibility as a VIP Concierge family, rather than being placed on a general waitlist.

The therapists and support staff behind these benefits are the same clinical team across every PPT4VIP location.

Insurance vs. Private Pay vs. VIP Concierge

Both tracks are cash-pay across physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Standard private pay runs through PPT4Kids, VIP Concierge through PPT4VIP. The difference is flexibility and support level.

Feature Insurance Private Pay VIP Concierge
Clinic-Based Care
Flexible Locations (home, school, community settings)
Specialized Therapist Matching
Dedicated Concierge Team
Priority Scheduling Access
Cash Pay, No Insurance Billing

If your family mainly needs standard clinic visits, private pay through PPT4Kids covers that. If you want a therapist who comes to you, a concierge team managing logistics, and priority scheduling, VIP Concierge is built for that, whatever the discipline.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cost and Insurance

  • Can I use my insurance for VIP Concierge?

No. PPT4VIP is cash-pay by design, which is what makes the longer sessions, therapist choice, and scheduling flexibility possible. If you'd rather use your insurance benefits, PPT4Kids handles insurance-based therapy across the same disciplines.

  • Does insurance cover therapy?

Traditional insurance coverage for therapy depends on medical necessity, evaluation scores, and the recommended number of sessions, and typically involves copays, deductibles, or annual visit caps. Insurance-based care is handled through PPT4Kids. VIP Concierge through PPT4VIP is cash-pay and is not billed to insurance. It is not through ppt4kids and instead through ppt4vip.

  • Can I use my HSA or FSA for VIP Concierge sessions?

Many families use HSA or FSA funds for private-pay therapy, but eligibility depends on your specific plan. Check with your plan administrator before scheduling to confirm your account covers it.

  • Why is private-pay pricing sometimes higher than my insurance copay?

A copay only reflects your share of a larger, insurance-negotiated rate. Private pay reflects the full cost of the session, but it also comes without visit caps, prior authorization delays, or a diagnosis-code requirement limiting what's covered.

  • How do I get an exact quote for cash based VIP services for my child?

Call 561-696-7247 or submit the request form on the VIP Concierge page. The team will ask about frequency, location preference, and your child's specific goals, then provide a rate based on your family's plan.

  • What happens during the first VIP Concierge visit?

The first step is requesting an evaluation. A member of the VIP Concierge team follows up to schedule to match you with a therapist suited to your child's needs, and talks through pricing and scheduling before scheduling an evaluation.
